Splash Around the Hill Country!

As the summer heat continues to climb, cool off in the Texas Hill Country! Whether it’s tubing down a river, parasailing high above a lake or taking a guided fishing tour, the Hill Country offers an abundance of unique and exciting water activities! The Inn is conveniently located close to many of the area’s aquatic attractions. Rafting down the scenic Guadalupe, Comal and San Marcos Rivers are a great way to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Hill Country. The Lion’s Club in San Marcos has tube rentals for floats down the San Marcos River and the proceeds support many local charities. Gruene River Company offers raft rentals for floats up to six hours down the crystal clear waters of the Guadalupe River. For the sportsmen, there is Davis Fly Fishing Service, a guide based excursion specializing in Hill Country river bass and trout. Davis Fly Fishing Service offers float trips on the Blanco, Llano, San Marcos and Guadalupe rivers. For the adventure seekers, take off and soar high above Lake Travis or LBJ Lake with Airscape Parasail! They offer single or two person flights where you take off from the deck of a specially designed parasail boat. Everyone should enjoy the beauty of Hamilton Pool Preserve. Hamilton Creek spills out over limestone outcroppings to create a 50 foot waterfall as it plunges into the head of a steep box canyon. The small beach and swimming hole is a great place to catch some rays, as is the Inn’s pool of course! Another great swimming hole, Blue Hole in Wimberley, is rated in the state’s top 10 swimming holes. There is an array of entertaining aquatic activities in the area for you to enjoy. Give us a call and we’ll help you plan an aquatic Hill Country adventure!
